New Grant for Wenqing Xu

Sponsor: Royalty Research Fund (RRF)
Short Title: Structural and biochemical analysis of protein  PARsylation and PARsylation-dependent ubiquitination.

This project will provide molecular mechanisms of a novel type of protein  modification and how this modification is associated with human diseases,  as well as provide a blueprint for drug design targeting cancer and  other diseases.

Welcome to new faculty member

Dr. Liquo Wang is joining the Department of Biological Structure effective today (January 3, 2011) as an Assistant Professor.  He comes from Yale University. His main research interest is the study of membrane proteins related to cardiovascular diseases (including cardiac arrhythmia), neuropathies, ischemic stroke and cognitive disorders.

Zipora Yablonka-Reuveni has a new appointment as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Oral Biology, School of Dentistry.
